Patient consent

Before you can record and summarize sessions for a patient, you need to mark on their profile that they’ve given consent. It’s a simple toggle on the patient profile — the therapist confirms the patient has agreed and turns it on.

  1. Open the patient profile.

  2. Go to the Consent section on the profile.

  3. Read the consent text with the patient and confirm they understand and agree.

  4. Click the Consent button to mark the patient as consenting.

The button is the only state — once you’ve clicked it, the patient is marked as consenting, and the same button can be used to clear that state if needed.

Without consent on the patient’s profile, you can’t:

  • Start a new session recording or summary for the patient. The Summarize / Record flow is blocked until consent is set.

Patient data you’ve already created (existing summaries, prior recordings, scored questionnaires) is unaffected and stays accessible. Consent gates new clinical content, not access to history.
